How ScreenTickr Works

Screentickr helps turn daily responsibilities into earned screen time.

It’s simple:

  1. Kids complete the things they need to do

  2. They earn screen time minutes

  3. They use those minutes during the week

No guessing. No arguing. Just clear expectations.

Screentickr isn’t about punishment — it’s about helping kids learn that responsibilities come before rewards.

1. Set up daily tasks.

Each child has a weekly list of tasks, like:

• Getting ready for school
• Tidying up after themselves
• Getting ready for bed
• Staying in bed after lights out

Each task is worth a set number of screen time minutes. You decide what matters — and how much it’s worth.

2. Track progress.

When your child completes a task, you mark it as done.

If they complete it without reminders, they earn their minutes.

If not, they don’t. It’s clear, consistent, and fair.

If the task is the source of an argument, mark it as Thumbs Down and minutes are deducted. Use Thumbs Down sparingly, it's a teaching tool, not a punishment.

3. Watch minutes add up.

As the week goes on, their total screen time builds.

When they want to use screen time, the question is,

“How much time do you have left?”

If they’ve earned it, they can use it. No negotiations required.

  1. Start Fresh each Week

  • Review what they earned

  • Celebrate their effort

  • Start a new board

It becomes a positive rhythm, not a battle. ScreenTickr isn't about punishment, it is about helping kids learn that responsibilities come before rewards.
